Yes, we really did travel through the state of
Vermont and knock on farm door after farm door
asking for recipes. We were invited into their
barns and into their homes. No matter how busy
they were, they made time to talk to us. They
talked about raising kids and Vermont history,
taxes and cleaning house, gardening and farm
chores. Yes, we got recipes, but we got even
more . . . we got a first class education o n
the countless hours of working on farms and the
struggles to keep them going.
We hope this collection of recipes
brings enjoyment to all who use them, and a bit
more recognition to the farmers of Vermont.
Everytime we use one, we'll think of the
friendly people who gave them to us and thank
them.
